Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) follows a structured monthly meter reading and billing schedule divided into Batches. Each consumer account is assigned a specific batch based on their geographic subdivision and feeder route.
Understanding Your Billing Batch
Your meter reading date, bill generation date, and due date depend directly on your assigned batch number:
- Batch Number Location: Found on the top section of your physical paper bill or online duplicate bill, labeled as Batch / Reading Route.
- Total Batches: GEPCO divides every month into 20–24 Reading Batches (running roughly from day 1 to day 24 of each calendar month).
Standard Monthly Billing Timeline
For any given batch, the entire process from reading to due date takes approximately 12–15 days:
| Stage | Timeline / Offset | Description |
| 1. Meter Reading Date | Day 0 | GEPCO meter reader visits your premises and captures a digital image of your physical meter display. |
| 2. Billing Processing | Day 1 – 3 | Data is synced with the Centralized Computer Billing Center. Units, slab rates, FPA, and taxes are calculated. |
| 3. Bill Generation & Upload | Day 4 – 5 | Duplicate bills become available online via the GEPCO portal (gepco.com.pk). |
| 4. Physical Paper Delivery | Day 6 – 8 | Printed bills are distributed to consumers by local post/couriers. |
| 5. Bill Due Date | Day 12 – 15 | Standard due date for payment without late payment surcharges. |

Pro-Tips for Tracking Billing Cycles
- Protected Status Management: Track your reading date to check your physical meter 2–3 days before the scheduled reader visit. This helps you monitor whether your consumption is approaching the 200-unit Protected Consumer limit.
- Late Paper Delivery Solution: If your physical bill arrives close to the due date, download the digital duplicate online using your 14-digit reference number as soon as your batch reading date passes.
